On Tuesday March 28, the Harvard Club of Boston made history. The names of Harvard University alumni who have served as Presidents of the United States, Vice Presidents of the United States, United States Senators, Supreme Court Justices and Massachusetts Governors and were born in Massachusetts or have spent the majority of their careers in the Commonwealth are inscribed on the walls of the Massachusetts Room. Based upon these criteria for inscription, a woman had yet to be eligible in the 115-year history of the HCB. With the election of Governor Healey, ’92, we are pleased that the Governor met the criteria for having her name inscribed in the Massachusetts Room. This is a milestone in the history of the Commonwealth and the Harvard Club of Boston, and it is also a proud moment for Governor Healey and our Club.
