CONGRATULATIONS TO SHARON BRADEY!
Please join us in congratulating one of the Harvard Club’s
very own, Sharon Bradey, Squash Professional. Sharon was
selected as Squash’s National Coach of the Year for the
United States Olympic Committee’s (USOC) Coach Recognition
Program for 2003!
Each Olympic/Pan American sport’s National Governing Board
(NGB) was invited to recognize three coaches – a National,
Developmental, and Volunteer Coach of the Year – for their
respective sport. The goals of the USOC Coach Recognition program
are to elevate the status of coaching as a profession and to recognize
the best coaches in the United States. The program is an exciting
way to recognize coaches who prepare our athletes for performance
at every level of sport. This is a great honor for Sharon to be
selected as the 2003 Coach of the Year for squash.
To commemorate her selection as National Coach of the Year for
Squash, she will receive an engraved plaque from the USOC and
a program containing biographies of the National, Developmental
and Volunteer Coaches of the Year from all NGBs.
As the selected Coach of the Year for Squash, Sharon also becomes
a candidate for the USOC Coach of the Year award for her category.
After reviewing all NGB Coach of the Year selections, a panel
will select five finalists in each category. If selected, Sharon
will be flown to Colorado Springs, CO, to receive her award during
the Coach of the Year Recognition Dinner being hosted by the USOC’s
Coaching and Sport Sciences Division. At this time, the overall
winners of the USOC National, Developmental and Volunteer Coach
of the Year will be announced. So here’s wishing Sharon
the very best of luck in receiving that award as well!
